We will also be considering how they are used in different electronic devices. INTRODUCTION (HEADING 1) There are two main types of architectures in the present day which are the x86 and ARM architecture. These architectures are commonly used in modern technology within their processors to execute instructions to meet their functionality. II. X86 ARM ARCHITECTURE The ARM processor is from a family of Central Processing Units that is based on the Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC) architecture which was developed by Advanced RISC Machines. However, the ARM architecture was originally developed by Acorn Computers, who currently own the company ARM Holdings, during the 1980’s.
